Each goodbye is getting harder and harder! This past weekend some dear friends (from the church we visited while living in Manila) made a special trip to see us before we leave the Philippines. Although our time was cut short by some unexpected plans, we were so grateful for the precious time we had together. We had so much fun visiting with them and hearing all about what they have been up to. (In case you were wondering, we don't know why we chose to pose like that in the above picture either. ;-) We just decided to do something besides sit and smile.)
They arrived Saturday evening and left Sunday afternoon. When we took them to the bus station on Sunday, most of us were really struggling to hold back the tears as we exchanged our last goodbye hugs. Why are goodbyes so hard? While we each promised to keep in contact (through texting, email, and facebook), the hard reality was that this probably would be the last time for our family to see them. We are not sure if we will be able to see them again before we leave next month or if we will ever return to the Philippines.
Yet we are so grateful for God in allowing them to come into our lives, especially at a time when we needed them most. They were such a blessing and encouragement during our first few months here in the Philippines. We thank God for the time that we had together this past weekend. :-)

Oh goodbyes are SO hard! I will be praying for all of you over the next several weeks as you say your goodbyes.
