After spending 40+ hours flying in the air (round trip) and almost 12 hours traveling in between, we girls and mom have made it back safely to the Philippines from the most wonderful three-week vacation in the States. Because TI offers a trip back to the States after being overseas for one year, we were able to spend some time with our Grandparents in Missouri and some of our relatives in Colorado. We wish we could’ve seen everyone, but time only allowed for the most important people on this trip… Just kidding! ;-) We love and miss you all and can’t wait to see everyone again!:-) Nonetheless, this short vacation was like a breath of fresh air seeing some of our family members as well as our home country again.:-)
Because of work-related deadlines, Dad was unable to go with us. :-( So, he held down the fort back here in the Philippines. We missed him very much and talked to him almost every day on our Internet phone. We even sent him a few pictures along the way.:-)
One of the first thoughts that popped into our heads as we landed in the USA was, “Wow! Everyone is so tall!” :-) It felt good to actually look up to some people once again and to remember what it felt like being at average height. :-) Haha! (We still love our short friends in the Philippines though!;->)
We spent the first part of our three-week trip at our Grandparents house in Missouri. The entire time we were there, we soaked in the fresh air and the beautiful, lush scenery. It was gorgeous! (Especially after all the rain SE Missouri had been getting)
While at our Grandparents, we spent many hours visiting with them, helping our Grandpa mow the yard, and “pampering” them both through different avenues. ;-) (A.k.a. known as massages, house cleaning, and cooking a few new menus.) We sure had fun.:-)

Also while we were there, Grandpa and Grandma treated us to lunch at an adorable, quaint little restaurant near their home. The lunch was as a belated celebration for Sarah’s high school graduation. :-) The restaurant, located in the middle rolling farm hills, sat behind a small white farmhouse and its colorful flower garden. We thoroughly enjoyed the lunch as well as the time we spent together there. (Let’s just say we laughed a lot during that meal. ;->)
After lunch, we came home and surprised Sarah with a graduation cake and some ice cream. After Sarah literally licked the side of the cake (just for fun;->), everyone else decided to dip their fingers in the cake too! Have no fear! We didn’t paint our faces with it or anything to that extent. We only painted our lips with the pink icing to experience a new fashion look. ;-) Haha! Sometimes you just can’t resist opportunities like that. ;-)
Also, we were very thankful to have the chance to see some other friends and relatives while we were at Grandpa and Grandma’s. We loved seeing some friends, the Berkemeyer family, who recently moved to Missouri from Texas. We really enjoyed seeing them and visiting with them at a beautiful park in Missouri. Also, we visited with some other relatives on Grandpa and Grandpa’s side of the family while we were there. It was so good to see some of our Great Aunts and Uncles again as well! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit with Grandpa and Grandma.:-) It all went by so fast! It makes us realize how quickly life goes by and how our life is but a vapor that appears for a while and then vanishes away. Therefore we must enjoy every moment that God gives us and serve Him with our all! :-)
