Our "Family Reunion"

Freshly grilled hamburgers, delicious German potato salad, thirst-quenching calamansi tea, fresh Filipino fruits….what more could make an evening cookout more enjoyable? Friends to share it with, of course!:-)

This weekend we hosted a hamburger cookout with all of our Texas Instruments families.
It was wonderful to chat with one another and exchange bear hugs with the little kiddos. :-) Friends are a blast!

Before dinner, the little fish… we mean the little kiddos… ;-)…splashed and played in the refreshing pool. The water looked so inviting, but we had to wait until later—after dinner—to take our swim.

We had so much fun preparing everything. Trying to move from one side of the kitchen to the other was an interesting experience in and of itself with all the different people at their own stations cooking, stirring, and baking their meals right before the party.:-) Cooking with others is so enjoyable, because we accumulate new, delicious recipes as well as fellowship with one another.

You could say that this party was a cookout in more than one way, since we were “cooking” along with the food inside! Haha! ;-) It brought back memories of our warm Thanksgiving meal. ;-) Still, everything was worth all the work and heat.

After the eating dinner and saying goodbye to some of our visitors, we girls (and some sweet friends who spent the night) went for a late night swim. At 11:00 P.M. to be exact.:-) The refreshing water lured us in, and we refreshed ourselves before our evening shower and bedtime.

After going many months without seeing our dear TI families, we enjoyed spending time with them this past weekend. After all, since we are almost like family, there is nothing better than family reunions! :-)
