Our Flight to the Philippines

It finally arrived! After months, weeks, and days of preparation, we were on our way to the Philippines. Our first flight flew to Tokyo, Japan and lasted 12 and ½ hours. During the long plane ride, we passed the time by reading books, tuning into classical music, and watching movies. A couple of hours after lunch, the stewardess closed all of the window shades so people could get some sleep. Many passengers slept almost the whole trip, while some of us….let’s just say….could not sleep at all.:-)

Also flying to the Philippines with us was another family, the Cliftons. They are one of the seven families moving to Philippines for the Texas Instruments project. The Cliftons have four adorable kids under the age of eleven.:-) (Pictured here is Reagan Clifton with Melissa)

After we landed in Japan, we had a few hour lay-over before reaching our final destination, Manila. Flying to the Philippines, we rode on a Boeing 747 (a double-decker plane), and we were so excited to ride on the upper level!:-) At this point we were so tired that most of us slept the entire ride. Dad fell into such a deep sleep before take-off that when he woke up he did not realize we were already in the air!:-)
