Christmas Caroling!

A crowded van + Christmas carols + good fellowship + Filipino friends = a very fun night! We recently had the opportunity to participate in our church’s annual Christmas caroling. We packed into our mini van like sardines and carpooled from house to house visiting several members all over Angeles City.

Every year at Christmas time, representatives from church will go caroling to the widows, widowers, or elderly couples of our church. This year we were excited to join them. We sang a few Christmas songs at each member’s house and then offered a basket of goodies before proceeding to our next stop. We couldn’t help but smile (inside and out) when we witnessed their big smiles as they listened to the small church “choir” gathered at their doorsteps and received the Christmas gifts.:-)

Most of our evening was spent in the car driving from house to house. The streets were very congested due to Catholic Christmas traditions, but the extra traveling time gave us more opportunity to visit with everyone.:-) Since Sunday services and Wednesday nights are normally to hard to stop and visit with one another, we always enjoy times such as these that give us another chance to visit with our Filipino friends.

In the excitement of the evening, we forgot to pull our camera out to take pictures. But on our last visit, we remembered to take a few photos. This was at Mrs. David’s house. She is 92 years of age and is so lovable and huggable! As we each took turns greeting her, she would reach out and give us a warm hug, while beaming a toothless smile. (Sorry you can't see her cute smile in this particular picture!)

Our family has really enjoyed the different opportunities and fellowships that have come up this Christmas season. We hope you too are enjoying your Christmas celebrations as well.:-)
