A Glimpse Into Our Church

It’s summer time! School is already out for the summer season over here in the Philippines. :-) Their summer break begins in March and lasts until June. Along with the other local schools closing for the summer, our church also had its academy and seminary graduation, both of which our family attended.

We felt the excitement of the students and the family members as the graduates received their awards and diplomas. It was encouraging to hear the graduates’ testimonies of God’s faithfulness throughout these past few years.


Both the Academy and Seminary graduates claimed 1Corinthians 15:10 as they praised the Lord for their achievements and success. “All because of Him,” they declared as they gave God the glory.

1 Corinthians 15:10 “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.”







Many of the students that attend the church’s private schools (which includes the academy and seminary schools) actually live in distant provinces here in the Philippines. So we were reluctant to say goodbye to our new friends…. yet we look forward to seeing most of them again in few months when school resumes.







The Lord has used the Mountain View Bible Baptist Church to bless our family in many ways, and we are so grateful for this church body to fellowship with while we are over here in the Philippines. The church has about 300+ members, and it is a blessing fellowshipping and worshiping with this body of believers each Sunday as well as throughout the week.


Pastor Quinlan, our missionary pastor who recently left for the U.S. for a sixth month furlough, spoke in English during his services. While he is in the U.S., another local pastor is preaching. Do you know what that means? More Tagalog practice. :-)

Thankfully, this local pastor makes an effort to use as much English for us as possible so that we can understand his messages (we are the only foreigners in the church). Still he uses more Tagalog words and phrases during the services. So we hope that by the end of these six months, our Tagalog vocabulary and comprehension will improve.:-)
