By now, most of you have heard of our little geckos (a.k.a. Beeps) :-) that live in the house with us. Lately they have only appeared a few times, as we have caught glimpses of them around the house…and in our rooms.:-(
Well, these geckos are not the only little creatures that we have found in our house. We have also discovered several roaches—very big roaches—around our place. Back home we would often come across these insects but they were never this size!
Last night, Melissa was walking out of her room and noticed something scurrying towards her on the wall. At first she assumed it was a gecko, but glancing again she noticed that it was not a gecko…but a huge roach. It was almost three inches long!
She attempted to swat at it with her house shoe, but it clumsily flew around before she could actually kill it (At least geckos do not fly, because that would be a nightmare come true for some of us!). We did not get to take a picture of this roach before Melissa threw it in the trashcan. Maybe next time we will quickly grab our camera and snap a shot of our other creatures to show you their…cuteness.:-)
Although we seem to be making a big deal over our Beeps and now roaches, we actually are not bothered by them a whole lot. Even though these little guys may gross us out, we do know and understand that God has a unique purpose for everything that He created as it says in Genisis 1:21, "God created every living creature that moves...and God saw that it was good."
The main reason why we make such a big deal over these little friends is that we have lots of fun laughing at each other's surprised reactions as we each have our turn encountering these creatures. Our family has some funny stories to tell, but we will save them until we see you in person.:-)
There has been a little discussion in our family….. We are trying to decide which little friend we would prefer to live with, a gecko or a roach. Some of us would definitely prefer flying roaches while other family members would rather live with shy geckos that sporadically appear in different places! So let us ask you…which would you prefer?:-)

Hello again, :) Here's my mom's vote: "I vote for geckos. I think they're cute and useful little creatures. Roaches are ugly and nasty little creatures :)"
Haha! Yes, most people we ask seem to prefer geckos over roaches.
I guess we're a little odd....because we (or at least we girls) would prefer ROACHES over geckos. Funny and weird, I know!:-)
Anyway....it's been fun to hear your preferences either by e-mail or through the blog post.:-)
