Not too long ago, all seven of us TI families went bowling together and then out to eat for supper. We had such a good time! For some of the family members, it was their first time bowling. After several weeks of being preoccupied with many daily requirements, it was so refreshing for many of us to just laugh and have some fun together.:-)
To add a little excitement to our group event, Dad decided to organize a contest for everyone bowling. For those who had the most strikes, spares, gutters, as well as the top score and the lowest score, we bought some small gifts and brainteasers for prizes. :-) The contest added to the enjoyment of our bowling event. Some of us tried to get high scores, while most of us just played for the fun of it. :-)
During the bowling event, whenever anyone made a strike, we all cheered and enthusiastically clapped our hands. Our excitement throughout the night showed through our continuous smiles and spontaneous bursts of laughter. :-) After several games, a few of the dads decided to create a new “form” by bowling in between their legs. Only one of them actually made a strike with this new bowling approach. Leave it to the dads to have some fun! It was quite entertaining to watch them attempt to bowl this way! :-)
The younger kids (those younger than twelve) had so much fun bowling! Even a four year old made a strike—with the help of her mom. It was so enjoyable to see the little ones get excited when their slow-moving balls bumped into the bowling pins at the end of the lane.:-) They were so cute.
We all enjoyed the evening. It was so nice for everyone to take a break from house-hunting, thoughts of the recent explosion in the nearby mall, and current job demands. So often we tend to get preoccupied with our daily schedules in life that we easily forget to spend time with the people that God places in our paths. That evening was a good reminder for us to enjoy others and to share God’s love by spending time with our TI family, those whom God has brought into our lives. :-)
